Helpful Visit Information

Canines:

download_20140212_155557On your first visit you will be greeted by one of our veterinary assistants who will assist you in gathering any forms or lab specimens you bring with you. If there are additional forms for you to complete or update, you can do that upon your arrival. One of our assistants will get your pet’s weight and put you into an exam room where they will get a history on your pet and take their temperature. One of our five doctors will join you shortly to start the exam on your pet. You can learn about any one of them by clicking on their name: Dr. Kimberly Burks, Dr. Joshua Li, Dr. Laura Li, Dr. Patti Niehm, and Dr. Torry Steffen.

After the veterinarians’ examination of your pet they will discuss any problems, and recommended diagnostic tests to you. Estimates are always provided if you would like one, and if you have any financial concerns about the cost of your pets visit please let us know at any time. We would love to work with you in order to get your pet the best possible care. Please visit our Financial Policies to learn more about how you can pay for your pet’s visit.

If this will be your pet’s first visit, please take a few minutes to fill out the New Client Form and the Canine Annual Wellness Form and bring them with you to your appointment. We do have additional copies of each form at our reception desk, but it can save time at the beginning of your visit if you complete them in advance.

What to bring:

  1. Any previous veterinary medical records or paperwork from a breeder
  2. Any Highland forms if you haven’t already submitted them online
  3. A stool sample if this is a first puppy visit or a yearly exam
  4. Your pet’s favorite treats or toys
